The ma|tov|trio focuses on powerful song-structures with simple melodies and harmonies to create an atmospheric mood. Still, the three musicians do not fear loud or noisy passages. The group, founded by Berlin guitarist André Matov, has its own idea of sound: pure groove instead of bulky sound-constructions. Experimenting with form and freedom, arrangement and improvisation, the trio defines its sound between grunge, ambient and groovejazz. Energetic, expressive guitar sounds are combined with the warm sound of the hammond organ.
