About John Wiese

John Wiese is an LA-based musician and artist whose contributions to those worlds have been as varied as they are immense over the last decade. His works in music, from drone to noise to experimental, sound installations, video, and visual art have been presented extensively throughout the world. Deviate From Balance is his newest double-LP on Gilgongo Records, which has further proven his talent as being monumental whether in a band or flying solo. Wiese’s on-going projects include LHD and Sissy Spacek, along with plenty of freelance work with artists as diverse as GX Jupitter-Larsen, Sunn O))), Wolf Eyes, Merzbow, Evan Parker, Smegma, Kevin Drumm, Yellow Swans, Cattle Decapitation, No Age, C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core), and Kommissar Hjuler und Frau. Wiese has toured as a member of Sunn O))), alongside Wolf Eyes, and recently performed in the 52nd Venice Biennale with artist Nico Vascellari.
