São poucos os nomes que nos anos mais recentes tenham abalado tanto os alicerces da música de dança como Helena Hauff. Com uma atitude punk que recusa o conformismo, a germânica originária de Hamburgo passou de um circuito fechado e reservado a nichos para os grandes palcos, atravessando géneros sem floreados e indo directamente ao assunto, à medida que rompia convenções e se afirmava de forma distinta. Enquanto isso, editava na Werkdiscs de Actress, Panzerkreuz ou Ninja Tune. Por entre electro, synth pop, techno cru, ácido ou industrial, os seus sets deambulam em diversas direcções em busca do inusitado e da surpresa, algo não muito vistos nestes dias, o que faz com que cada noite em frente de uma cabine com Helena Hauff vá muito para além do que é um momento único.

Over the last few years there are only a handful of names that have shook the foundations of dance music as effectively as Helena Hauff. With a punk attitude that flies in the face of conformity, this Hamburg native leapt effortlessly from a small circuit, usually reserved for those in the know, to massive festival stages across the globe, fusing musical genres, defying conventions, breaking any and all rules, while quietly affirming herself as one of the world’s finest DJs. The fruits of her studio work have been released on labels such as Actress’ Werkdiscs, Panzerkreuz and Ninja Tune. Her adventurous DJ sets combine Electro, Synth Pop, Techno, EBM, Acid and Industrial to tremendous effect with her surprising and eclectic selections often driving crowds into a kind of frenzied euphoric state that is rarely seen nowadays and this is undoubtedly what makes an evening in front of a DJ Booth presided over by Ms. Hauff, go far beyond what can conventionally be described as a unique experience.
