Crooner is an American epithet given to male singers of jazz standards, mostly from the Great American Songbook, either backed by a full orchestra, a big band or by a piano. Originally it was an ironic term denoting an emphatically sentimental, often emotional singing style made possible by the use of microphones. (ref. Wiki)
The only difference here is that the crooner is from India. And he performs in and out of songbooks. Mister Mawkin explores vocal based repertoire majorly and performs music ranging from various genres and languages though mainly in an environment created by acoustic/semi-acoustic instruments.
Mister Mawkin performs in duo/trio/band settings, depending on a particular scenario.
