With a driving banjo, doghouse bass, a sweet fiddle, Lime and Steel take a bluegrass string band, throw in a rock drum kit and a uniquely Australian intonation for a show of originals that moves from pub rock anthems about EH Holdens to convict murder ballads. Lime and Steel's sweet harmonies twang through Bogan bluegrass love-songs and wind up into a spoon-tappin' fast-pickin' wine-soaked hillbilly family singalong.

These city folk with a penchant for cowboy boots n hats, both kinds of music, beer, cigarettes whisky and wild, wild women will drive you crazy, they’ll drive you insane!
The Slowdowns will, stand and deliver! Gravelly lead vocals, five part harmonies, slide banjo, harmonica and blistering guitars precariously held together by a rhythm section that rolls like a runaway train!
Featuring some of Sydney’s busiest musos, members of the Slowdowns have, over the years, shared the stage with: Louis Tillet, The Paper Scissors, Bluejuice, Juke Baritone, the Re-mains, Jeff lang, Ian Rilen, Toxic Vomit, Leah Flanagan, Dirty Deeds, Tania Bowra, Charlie McMahon, Rahtzee and many, many, many more.
Wanted for murdering the hits, butchering country classics and spicing it up with their original originals the Slowdowns have been spotted at Coonmable Rodeo, Nymagee, the Port of Bourke, Brewarrinna and Karuah RSL’S. You might have chanced upon them at the Peats Ridge Festival, The Wharf Theatre, Carriageworks, The Excelsior and the Junkyard.
