No prizes for spotting it's a properly windy day again today... So tonight definitely won't be everyone's idea of fun, but it's Wednesday so we're going to give it a go anyway – we're relying on a predicted evening lull in the wind, of which there is no guarantee, so if we're blown off the slipway we may well give up and retreat to the pub early! But the plan is to meet at Two Tree from 6.15pm (www.supsect.com/two-tree-island, staying stealth to avoid the £4 slipway tax, so please no earlier that 6.10 after the foreshore officer's gone home!) ahead of a 6.45pm launch. The idea is we should be able to tuck out of the wind in lee of Canvey Island, so we won't be going anywhere: just turning left off the slipway, around the first corner and sitting tight before the second corner for a mess-about / technical session / maybe surf hockey? And we're unlikely to be much longer than an hour unless conditions are miraculously, surprisingly good. (Or otherwise, we're pushing our luck here to see quite what's feasible, so if it's clearly not good we may opt to paddle straight back and call it a day!)
